Our Daycare. Our Family. Our Community.

Established in 1990, Bradford Progress Childcare Centres is a non-profit organization that has grown to include three full-service daycare locations (a fourth child care will open in Beeton in 2023) and 12 school based on-site before-and-after school programs in Bradford, Beeton, Colgan and Tottenham, all of which are licensed by the Ministry of Education.  We are committed to offering high-quality, affordable care and early learning that meets the needs of the many communities and families we serve.

We are committed to participating in the Canada-Wide Early Learning and Child Care Program. This will assist our families with lower child care fees for children up to the end of Senior Kindergarten.  We have our approval and our families are benefitting from a significant reduction in Child Care Fees.

Bradford Progress Childcare Centres is run by a volunteer Board of Directors and an experienced management team committed to high-quality and safe care for all children.  The organization maintains partnerships with the Ministry of Education, Simcoe County District School Board, Simcoe Muskoka Catholic District School Board, and the County of Simcoe.

Our emergent curriculum play-based learning approach is the core of all our programs and is consistent with the Ministry of Education’s policies and pedagogy, “How Does Learning Happen?”.  “How Does Learning Happen?” is rooted in four foundations, which come to life in each classroom through age-appropriate dramatic play, music, language, literacy, nature science, technology, block play, creative arts, and physical activity:

Belonging: Every child has a sense of belonging when they are connected to others and contribute to their world. Our programs cultivate authentic, caring relationships and connections to create a sense of belonging among and between children, adults, and the world around them.

Well-being: Every child is developing a sense of self, health, and well-being. Our programs nurture children’s healthy development and support their growing sense of self

Engagement: Every child is an active learner who explores the world with body, mind and senses. Our programs provide environments and experiences to engage children in active, creative and meaningful exploration, play and inquiry

Expression: Every child is a capable communicator who expresses themself in many ways. Our programs foster communication and expression in all forms.

Our sites are staffed by Registered Early Childhood Educators, Ontario Certified Teachers, Child and Youth Workers, students of Early Childhood Education programs, and experienced Assistants, all of whom have completed vulnerable screening checks and maintain their Standard First Aid & CPR Level C certifications.  We provide all staff with ongoing training and development opportunities so they can stay up to date with the latest research and supports in the field of early childhood education, and weekly program time to ensure program activities reflect the current needs and interests of the children in our care.

Our full-service daycare facilities are located centrally in Bradford. All of our centres are clean and spacious, with ample outdoor space to foster exploration and play. Nutritious morning and afternoon snacks that meet most allergy and dietary requirements, following Canada’s Food Guide, are provided. Lunch is catered daily by Wholesome Kids Catering.

Our before-and-after school programs follow the Ministry of Education’s Extended Day program guidelines and run on-site at 12 different Simcoe County area schools in both the Public and Catholic school boards.  Programs include snacks based on Canada’s Food Guide. School-aged children can also sign up for PA Day care, holiday and March break activities, and summer camp.
